On Tuesday, October 6th, Office Max recognized Johanna Cowart as the annual “A Day Made Better” award winner. Each year, Office Max recognizes outstanding teachers across the nation for their contributions in the classroom. Mrs. Cowart was selected because of her passion, hard work, and positive attitude. She will receive over $1,000 in classroom supplies. On this particular day, Office Max made Mrs. Cowart’s day better, but we are fortunate that she makes everyday a great day for our students. Congratulations Mrs. Cowart! |

Celebrate Hohokam Elementary School’s 50th Anniversary
Hohokam Elementary School will host a celebration in honor of its 50th Anniversary on February 27th 2010. The celebration will be held at the school from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m..
We want to make this a big celebration — We hope all present and former students, parents and neighbors of any student attending Hohokam Elementary school since 1960 will come out and help celebrate this special 50th Anniversary of Hohokam School.
It will be a fun afternoon with good food and entertainment and a chance to see and visit with friends, teachers, and staff members from 1960 to the present year. Former principals, teachers and staff members will be in attendance for this celebration.
If you have any questions or want additional information, please call Principal Chad Caudle at 480-484-1810.
Hohokam Traditional School Information
Hohokam is in the process of transitioning into a Traditional School. This process will continue through the 2009-2010 school year. The SUSD Governing Board has shown support for this transition. Our goal is to open the 2010-2011 school year as HohokamTraditional School. One element of the traditional philosophy that will begin next year is a new student dress code. This was approved by the Governing Board on April 7, 2009
